Tussen 1850 en 1900 groeide de vissersvloot enorm door toegenomen vraag uit de steden, verbeterde vervoersmogelijkheden van de vis en het machinale breien van netten. De overheid besloot in 1883, dat alle schepen een visserijnummer moesten krijgen op het schip en in het zeil. Op de ochtend, dat het gemeentehuis open ging voor de registratie, ging Jaap ten Bokkel uit Hippolytushoef er al vroeg heen, hij wilde no 1 hebben. Maar een ander was hem voor. No 2 en 3 wilde hij niet. Dus dat werd 4. En waarom? Het nummer moest ook nog in de kurken op de netten gesneden worden, en een 1 of een 4 is makkelijker te snijden dan een 2 of een 3. Zodoende staat op dit schip WR4. In 1883 viste Jaap nog met een Skuutje, iets groter dan de WR60, maar in 1896 liet hij op de werf in Van Ewijcksluis een nieuw Aakje bouwen. Dit schip was hem al gauw te klein, daarom liet hij in 1900, opnieuw bij scheepstimmerman Nijdam uit Van Ewijcksluis, een grotere Aak bouwen, deze WR4. In het voorjaar viste Ten Bokkel er mee op haring en ansjovis, in de zomer op harder en bot. In herfst en winter op alikruken en kokkels voor de Belgische en Engelse markt. Ook mosselen voor Duitsland. Zeegras is met dit schip nooit gevist. De Aak is in 2000-2004 gerestaureerd, met natte bun en handgenaaide zeilen van vlasdoek (linnen). Het schip is nu te koop, maar we willen het graag op Wieringen houden. Zolang het hier blijft, is het vrijgesteld van havengeld. Bij het varende houden helpen de vrijwilligers van het Skuutje WR60. Zij proberen het benodigde geld door verhuur en sponsoring bij elkaar te brengen.

Stevinsluizen
There are two lock complexes in the Afsluitdijk: the Lorentz locks on the Frisian side at Kornwerderzand and the Stevinsluizen at Den Oever. The complexes consist of locks, which allow ships to navigate back and forth between the IJsselmeer and Waddenzee, and discharge locks, which discharge excess IJsselmeer water into the Waddenzee at low tide.
