Tulips in the Kop

Full of scent and colour during the 66th edition of the Flower Days. Admire well over one hundred mosaics, moving projects and decorated streets and bridges throughout the polder. Visit one of the many exhibitions or flea markets and join the treasure hunts and workshops.

Enjoy spring bloomers like hyacinths, daffodils, tulips and special bulbs and tubers. They were planted by volunteers in the autumn. From mid-March to mid-May the garden blooms and the Polder Garden is at its best.

Have a look at no less than 4,000 different types of bulbs, including tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, crocuses and fritillaries. Special are the many historical types, including the oldest type of bulb dating from 1595.

Enjoy the beautiful colours and the flowery bulb fields from very close. The activities are, in fact, right amidst the flowers, e.g. a cycling or walking tour straight through the flowering bulb fields.

The BloemBollenBoemel is a cooperation between Bloeiend Zijpe and Land van Fluwel and crosses the beautiful tulip fields three times a day. A passionate guide explains the fortunes of the bulb profession and the largest contiguous bulb area in the world.

The most exciting journey through time is on the original steam tram that connects the historic triangle Hoorn – Medemblik – Enkhuizen. The railway from 1887 runs straight through the blooming tulip fields. Along the way, discover the tastiest museum in the Netherlands, the beautiful traditional station buildings or transfer to the museum ship to the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen.

Meerbos Breezand is a food forest in the middle of the beautiful flower bulb fields in the Noordkop. This food forest contains all kinds of trees, shrubs and plants with edible fruits. Be surprised by the wealth of nature during a presentation or tour.

Enjoy a colourful palette of several flowers and different activities: painting, floristry, music, photography and dinning amidst the flower fields. A cycling tour on April 27 and a walking day on April 28. Plenty to do in Julianadorp.

Be surprised, enchanted and push your boundaries for a day. Visit the Dutch Tulip Experience and discover the fairy tale of the tulip with an audio tour. Conquer yourself on the Bare Feet Path, let it all go in the Adventures Paradise and enjoy De Kneinsberg restaurant.

Have a look at a special assortment of exclusive and new types of bulbs in the flowering show garden. Pick your own bunch of flowers in the Tulip Picking Garden (25 March-15 May), the Allium Picking Garden (1 May-15 June) or the Dahlia Picking Garden (15 June-15 October). The bulb shop is open throughout the year.

Unique gravel bike tour along colorful flower fields. A gravel/MTB tour that gives you a unique experience through the largest contiguous flower bulb area in the world! On your gravel bike or MTB you will experience a true color festival during Kleurrijk Julianadorp.

Unique in the Netherlands: an excursion in the tulip greenhouse at Siem Munster Nursery. The greenhouse contains more than 1,000,000 tulips. The nursery opens its doors to groups on holiday or groups that are out for the day. The registration dates for individual visitors are 23 February, 2 and 16 March.
