‘The apARTment’ is a spacious, comfortable and specially designed house on the former island of Wieringen, “De Kroon” of North Holland. The combination of the space decorated with design and art and the authentic landscape with the Wadden coast, the Robbenoordbos, IJsselmeer, fishing port and the Afsluitdijk makes a stay in The apARTment unique. The house is part of an active cultural building and is still completely independent with its own entrances. You also have complete privacy in the garden specially reserved for The apARTment, but if you want to experience the vibrancy of the studios, they are open for a visit.

discover ‘hidden’ Waddeneiland Wieringen
Walking route of Landscape North Holland. Wieringen is a "hidden" Wadden Island full of traces of the last ice age. Due to the closure of the Amsteldiep in 1924, the construction of the Afsluitdijk and the Wieringermeerpolder, Wieringen became part of the Noordkop. But it is still full of hidden stories, old villages, height differences, hollow roads, extensive meadows. Incidentally, the dog is allowed on a lead.

Foundation for Shelter Nautical Heritage Wieringen (ONEW)
At the Historical Corner of the Vissershaven in Den Oever, next to the water level house from 1919, is a workshop and meeting space. This building serves to support the activities around the ships berthed in the Historical Corner.

At the foot of the Afsluitdijk in Den Oever, you can enjoy the tastiest fish at Vis van Havenzicht with the most expansive view of the fishing port and the Wadden Sea and the ships that pass between the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Mark and Michel know everything about fish through their years of experience as fishermen, which you will of course find in their range.
