Boerenkapel de ‘Knorhanen’ is ontstaan in 1961 uit leden van Harmonie “Winnubst”. Er werd destijds een carnavalsvereniging opgericht en daar hoorde natuurlijk een boerenkapel bij. De carnavalsvereniging ontstond uit leden van voetbalclub WGW en muziekvereniging Winnubst dus een boerenkapel was zo voorhanden. Een naam voor de carnavalsvereniging werd gauw gevonden: CV de ‘Krabbetukkers’ en de naam ‘Knorhanen’ paste daar mooi bij. Een knorhaan is één van de weinige vissen die geluid maakt (dat doet hij als er gevaar dreigt, maar de kapel doet dat alleen als de gezelligheid dreigt). De kapel speelde op de feesten van de carnavalsvereniging zoals de ‘Gala Sitzung’ in schouwburg de Kampanje, het boerenkielenbal en de carnavalsfeesten in de tenten bij tuindorp. Deze tenten werden speciaal opgebouwd voor deze festiviteiten. Het complex had de naam Bastion Pierre, deze naam werd trouwens behouden voor de feestzaal toen er naar Quelderduijn werd verhuisd. In 1996 kwam er een einde aan de samenwerking met de Krabbetukkers. Maar dat wilde niet zeggen dat de kapel ook uiteen viel, want ze speelden ook altijd al bij bruiloften en partijen en dat wordt tot op de dag van vandaag nog steeds gedaan. Tegenwoordig spelen ze op allerlei festiviteiten om de gezelligheid op te vrolijken. Ook zijn er diverse buitenlandse trips georganiseerd die niet alleen muzikale hoogtepunten waren. Duitsland, Spanje en zelfs een Tour de France etappe naar de Alpe d’Huez hebben op het programma gestaan. De jaarlijkse “DOLLE DINSDAG” in de Pimpandoer mag zeker niet onvermeld blijven. Ieder jaar wordt dat voor de feestende menigte weer als “hét” hoogtepunt van deze dinsdag gezien. Jaarlijks wordt er ook een tripje naar de sneeuw gemaakt, met soms de gehele kapel en wordt er ook op de berg en tijdens de après-ski gemusiceerd.

Sail on board of the Tres Hombres
When you sail with the Tres Hombres, you will not count as a passenger, no, you're really a part of the crew! You come on board "with the safe holes" or you start at the lower rungs of the ladder. You learn the necessary safety knowledge for ordinary seaman, ship maintenance, steering, pay attention to changes, set sail and more. Then you proceed to sailor: Ropework, basic navigation and maneuvering under sail.
