Smartlappenkoor Ordinaria is a four-part choir that has been around for more than 20 years. We sing smartlaps, life songs and Dutch-language repertoire. Every year we participate in Music Day, Summer Dreams and other events.

Beach entrance Duinoord is the best equipped beach entrance of Den Helder, with plenty of parking space, its very own Beachclub the Citadel, and a guarded beach post in the summer season. In the direct surroundings there are a few nature areas like ''de Donkere Duinen'' and ''Mariëndal''. Duinoord has a nice, wide beach, and is often visited during the summer by both tourists and inhabitants of Den Helder. This beach has the Blue Flag and is being guarded.

Our Dutch culture seems to be fading, but not in Den Helder. Since 1975, the Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden have been active to maintain a tradition. The 90-key street organ 'de Harmonica' is managed and operated by the volunteers of 'Stichting Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden'. Almost every Saturday they are with the organ in the city center of Den Helder. On an original wooden, three-wheeled push cart and always turned by hand, as happened a century ago.

We, Giorgio Tronci and my wife Alice Defigus, are very proud of the location of our restaurant. The building has been designed in a fine Mediterranean look. At Scheepstuigerij De Schieman we process rope and steel wire into a traditional product and we do a lot of sail makers work. We work for both companies and individuals. We are regularly asked by private individuals to make a cable ring with iguana or widened fenders as a beautiful decorative edge and / or to protect their boat. But we also supply stays, shots and falls, jib nets, play nets, climbing nets or a net like protection at a fishing pond. As a sailmaker, customers regularly hand in tents for repair.

Citymarketing Den Helder has opened an Experience Store in the center of Den Helder. A unique concept where you can interactively obtain information about living, working, learning and leisure within the municipality of Den Helder.

The ice is prepared in the traditional way and is always fresh. Everyone is welcome from Monday - Saturday, and during the summer periode also opened every Sunday.
