De Houtzolder is a cozy traditional brown café located on the harbor of Den Oever. The cafe is located in an attic that was previously used as a wood storage. The café has a large outdoor terrace that offers a unique view of the harbor and the Wadden Sea. De Houtzolder is happy to let you taste various (regional) products, they are an official tasting room of the Texel Brewery. With more than 25 types of beer and different traditional jenevers, corn wines, bitters and liqueurs, this is a café for true gourmets.

For the gourmets there is also smoked salmon and mackerel. During the season, own eel is caught on the Wadden Sea, you can see the traps when you look out to sea at the Monument!
