The four storage sheds on Gesterweg were built in 1937 as a warehouse for Stelling Den Oever and were used as a mobilization complex during the Cold War.

Corn mill De Hoop was probably built around 1654. Since 2015, the mill has been milling again and runs weekly thanks to the efforts of volunteers.

This unique accomadation; The Ecolodge in Oosterland has been realized around a scouting area right at the Waddensea dike. The house is part of a nature plan, called The Waddenparel. The lodge is suitable for 6 persons and has got 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms with 2 single beds and the other has got a staple bed. There is a bathroom withe a shower and a seperate toilet. Living area with a nice sitting area and the possibility for another 2 persons to stay on the sleeping couch. For rent for a minimum of 3 nights. Nowadays the Chapel building has a function as a village house / event location. The space can be rented for various activities such as weddings, receptions, meetings, birthday parties and other gatherings. The Chapel has crockery for 50 guests, so that a (bread) meal / buffet can be enjoyed if necessary.

There are two lock complexes in the Afsluitdijk: the Lorentz locks on the Frisian side at Kornwerderzand and the Stevinsluizen at Den Oever. The complexes consist of locks, which allow ships to navigate back and forth between the IJsselmeer and Waddenzee, and discharge locks, which discharge excess IJsselmeer water into the Waddenzee at low tide.

Restaurant 'de Zingende Wielen' is located on the former island Wieringen in between the villages Den Oever and Oosterland. To have breakfast, lunch and an excellent diner, but also for a cup of coffee you are most welcome.

Casa Luz means Light House. And that is one of the characteristics of this holiday home: the beautiful incidence of light. The garden with a view over the meadows is located on one of the oldest dikes in the Netherlands, where the sheep regularly walk past in spring and summer. In the living room is our favorite spot: the hanging chair. Are you taking a bath or under the outdoor shower? This is where you can relax!
