Sport Fishing

Den Oever is also located on the Afsluitdijk and is therefore the only village that is located on fresh and salt water. The port is located near the Afsluitdijk on the Wadden Sea side. Den Oever is a real fishing port. A section of the harbor has been set up as a tourist harbour. You can take a Wadden cruise here or go for a day of sport fishing.

A visit to tea room/tea shop 't Theeater is a unique experience that you should definitely not miss. Under 'Packages' you will find all kinds of possibilities for an unforgettable day out!

The gauge house in the harbor of Den Oever was used to record the water level. There are two of these houses on Wieringen.

Palingrokerij Kay - Den Oever is a mobile eel smokehouse with a 5-star status. The eel comes from our own catch, IJsselmeer or even from Ireland. For the gourmets there is also smoked salmon and mackerel. During the season, own eel is caught on the Wadden Sea, you can see the traps when you look out to sea at the Monument! Come and have a look, you are very welcome.

RMH Carrental is a young and customer-oriented company located on Wieringen. They have young cars with cruise control and air conditioning / climate control. They can also offer a collect- and delivery service after consultation. This means that the car will be at your doorstep. RMH is for customer convenience and great service for a good price.

Studio Gest is located in a former warehouse and has its own entrance and consists of a large, high living room of approx 60m2 with underfloor heating. The studio has a private terrace and can accommodate two persons. Possibly there may be a bed or cot to be put.
