Casa Luz means Light House. And that is one of the characteristics of this holiday home: the beautiful incidence of light. The garden with a view over the meadows is located on one of the oldest dikes in the Netherlands, where the sheep regularly walk past in spring and summer. In the living room is our favorite spot: the hanging chair. Are you taking a bath or under the outdoor shower? This is where you can relax!

You can discover our beautiful municipality by bicycle via the bicycle route. The route takes you about 30 kilometers through beautiful nature and past old stately houses, churches, farms and locks. Along the way you will pass, in addition to the many religious buildings, also numerous historic buildings that, together with the other monuments, make our municipality a picture. C.J. Wagemaker organizes various day trips like sport fishing, seal tours and mud arrangements.

Son Jan and his wife Ingrid have continued Studio Blank since 2020 and breathe new life into it. They are showing the permanent collection of works by Hans Blank, who was not only a sculptor, but also a painter. In addition they are showing the works of Marijke Blank-Van Wijk and various other artists outside in the gallery.

At the foot of the Afsluitdijk in Den Oever, you can enjoy the tastiest fish at Vis van Havenzicht with the most expansive view of the fishing port and the Wadden Sea and the ships that pass between the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Mark and Michel know everything about fish through their years of experience as fishermen, which you will of course find in their range. Delicious baked, (home) smoked and ready-to-cook fresh fish, freshly cut herring, various freshly filled sandwiches, plate menus, fries, fish dishes (on order) and more.
