The detached double villa on the MUZ park was built around 1927 to accommodate senior staff who worked on the construction of the Afsluitdijk.

The so-called MUZ-Park was established in 1925-28 for the senior staff of the Society for the Implementation of the Zuiderzee Works. The board members A. Bos and G.A. van Hattum moved into the thatched double villa at Gemeenelandsweg 116, engineer Algra into the detached house at Gemeenelandsweg 110 and for the employers there were the workers' houses at Gemeenelandsweg 94-108 and 128-130.
