De Aap is the most active youth association in the municipality of Hollands Kroon. It started around 1940 in an old shack where young people went after church to do a beer. At the beginning of the last century, many flower bulb growers moved to the north of North Holland. Many growers from South Holland came to “De Noord”. This created a need for its own parish church. To cover the start-up costs, voluntary contributions were asked and a church bulb auction was held.
