A fun route with colorful gnome posts, especially for children. The route was realized together with volunteers and the Municipality of Hollands Kroon. Do you also want to walk the route? The starting point of the route can be found at the large parking lot on the Noorderdijkweg in the Dijkgatbos. The gnome poles show you the way through the forest. Pay close attention, because along the way you will come across various signs with fun nature facts and assignments. These assignments are different every season. The route is approximately 2.2 kilometers long and suitable for children from approximately 4 years old.

Pumping station Leemans Stontelersluis
From 1930, the Leemans pumping station has ensured that the residents of the Wieringermeer keep their feet dry by pumping water from the polder. Until 1997 this was in the IJsselmeer. Because the water in the Wieringermeer is bad for nature and drinking water extraction due to so-called "saline seepage" (seawater that flows into the polder underground), it has been pumped directly into the Wadden Sea since 1997.

Voormalige Hervormde Kerk Wieringerwerf (Het Kompas)
In 1937 werd gestart met de bouw van de Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk aan de Meeuwstraat. In Slootdorp en Middenmeer waren al hervormde kerken gebouwd. Alle drie de kerken zijn ontworpen door architect G. van Hoogevest. De interbellumkerk is bescheiden en relatief sober ontworpen. In april 1945 is de kerk zwaar beschadigd. In 2002 werd het gebouw niet meer gebruikt als Hervormde Kerk. De Nederlandse Gereformeerde Kerk huurde de kerk en gaf het gebouw de naam ‘Het Kompas’. In 2022 zijn er appartementen gebouwd in de kerk.
