The farmers rest points route consists of 10 wooden benches with an information board. The route was set up by farmers themselves, in places they experience as very special. Views of polder landscapes, streams and growing crops. At each bench, the farmer proudly tells visitors through an audio tour and video images what farming means to him and to our municipality. Walking route of Landscape North Holland. Before the reclamation in 1575, Waarland or Waertland was an archipelago of low islands, swampy reed lands ("dripping lands") and lakes.
