This unique accomadation; The Ecolodge in Oosterland has been realized around a scouting area right at the Waddensea dike. The house is part of a nature plan, called The Waddenparel. Den Oever is also located on the Afsluitdijk and is therefore the only village that is located on fresh and salt water. The port is located near the Afsluitdijk on the Wadden Sea side. Den Oever is a real fishing port. A section of the harbor has been set up as a tourist harbour. You can take a Wadden cruise here or go for a day of sport fishing.

The Wadden Experience Point in Den Oever is a viewpoint over the Wadden Sea. You can look out over the 't Schor nature reserve, the dam with the largest spoonbill colony in Europe (Vogelsandt), the former island of Wieringen, the harbor of Den Oever and the Afsluitdijk.
