Stolpboerderij – Nieuwe Streek 58

Stolpboerderij – Nieuwe Streek 58

This longhouse bell jar is hidden within the pedestrian area of the Nieuwe Streek. This type of farmhouse is not easily expected at this location. The square construction of the Kapberg is clearly recognisable. The facade is made of yellow bricks with a wooden gable paneling and carved bargeboards. The entrance at the front is the connection between the former farmhouse and the old stable with the Kapberg attached to it. This explains the double wooden top facade on the street side. Inside, the patterns of grup and cowsheds have remained recognizable in the stone floor through the use of deviating motifs. A colony of swifts nest under the red tiles every spring. Just like the other houses on the Nieuwe Streek, there is an overgarden. This is a garden that is separated from the house by the public road.
