Kolhorn’s trade fair exhibition also in 2023! Until the 1950s, Kolhorn had many small shops. Whether you came to the Nieuwe Streek, the Oude Streek, the Westfriesedijk or the Strook. There were shops everywhere. It can still be found in only a few places. With this theme exhibition, Museum De Turfschuur puts that special piece of Kolhorn history in the spotlight for one more season. This professionally designed exhibition takes you to a store from your childhood (or your parents’) where you had to get something for your mother. For example, white beans, a cut of white, or a card of black darning thread. Information about the butchers, bakers, grocers and manufacturers can be found at the stalls with loaned and donated products from earlier times. Free 3 guided village walks via audio tours all year round. Can be picked up at the museum with QR codes. Even when the museum is closed. Also in English and German!

De Laurenskerk
The building may date from the 15th century, but was later modified with a three-sided closure and a northern extension. After considerable damage in the village fire of 15 September 1788, the church was restored in 1791-1792. The tower consists of a simple 19th-century tower with an eight-sided spire.
