A pub in the Havenstraat of the town of Den Oever.

There are two lock complexes in the Afsluitdijk: the Lorentz locks on the Frisian side at Kornwerderzand and the Stevinsluizen at Den Oever. The complexes consist of locks, which allow ships to navigate back and forth between the IJsselmeer and Waddenzee, and discharge locks, which discharge excess IJsselmeer water into the Waddenzee at low tide.

M.S. Dageraad organizes arrangements for various boattrips, starting from the harbouw in Den Oever: sport fishing, evening fishing, seal tours, roundtrips and day tours.

Corn mill De Hoop was probably built around 1654. Since 2015, the mill has been milling again and runs weekly thanks to the efforts of volunteers.

At Oostkade in the harbor of Den Oever you will find a campersite. Toilet building after payment to the harbor master to use code of the door.

The four storage sheds on Gesterweg were built in 1937 as a warehouse for Stelling Den Oever and were used as a mobilization complex during the Cold War.

It is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts. From the harbor of Den Oever are dozens of ports within reach. Son Jan and his wife Ingrid have continued Studio Blank since 2020 and breathe new life into it. They are showing the permanent collection of works by Hans Blank, who was not only a sculptor, but also a painter. In addition they are showing the works of Marijke Blank-Van Wijk and various other artists outside in the gallery.
