De woning aan de Westfriesedijk is een rijksmonument. Het pand is in 1840 gebouwd. In deze tijd had Kolhorn nog een bedrijvige haven aan de voormalige Zuiderzee. Dit stukje van de dijk is in het verleden veelvuldig gefotografeerd. Het naastgelegen pand is altijd een café geweest. De woning heeft een zadeldak, gedekt met een rode Hollandse pan. De topgevel is aan de voorzijde voorzien van een houten beschot ofwel topgevelbeschieting genoemd. Wat betreft de detaillering zijn er eenvoudige windveren aangebracht en bovenop prijkt een makelaar. Aan de zijgevel wordt de dakgoot ondersteund door meerdere houten consoles (gootklossen). De openslaande halve deur in de topgevel is ergens tussen 1982 en 1970 geplaatst. Op foto’s van de Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed uit 1970 is enkel een groot raam onder het klein raam zichtbaar, in 1982 is dit teruggebracht naar oorspronkelijke staat. Uit de archieven blijkt dat er verschillende bouwvergunning zijn verleend en dus aanpassingen zijn gedaan aan het rijksmonument. In 2003 zijn de dakgoot en regenpijp geheel vernieuwd en nog extra hemelwaterafvoeren geplaatst. Dit is uitgevoerd in dezelfde kleur- en materiaalgebruik (groen/crème en hout). In 2000 is er een dakkapel aan de achterzijde geplaatst. De Laurenskerk
