Sleeping in the house of Fort Kijkduin, the Fortwachters house in Huisduinen. Fort Kijkduin is part of the defence line of Den Helder, a unique heritage, includes six fortresses.

“Kroontjesbunker” (FL250)
The FL250 was nicknamed 'Kroontjesbunker' because of the shape of the tower. In the bunker the flight movements of aircraft were coordinated. This bunker is located in a nature reserve.

“Kustwachttoren”
Nowhere can you sleep as close to the sea as when you sleep in De Kustwachttoren. This unique holiday apartment is situated in the lovely coastal town Huisduinen. This former coastguard tower has been transformed into a stunning apartment with a spectacular view across land and sea. The apartment is situated on the third, fourth and fifth floor of the former coastguard tower. De Kustwachttoren has been renovated while maintaining its original character, providing you with a special view from anywhere in the apartment.

Art workplace LDS46
On our visit address at Huisduinen (art workplace LDS46) we organize, in addition to changing exhibits, regular events. Here you will find performances of classical and modern music, festive receipts, workshop dinners and personal explanations of displayed works of art. Furthermore, we participate in various cultural manifestations and art routes.

Atlantikwall Centre
For years, the Administration Building or 'Old Casino' in Huisduinen was a controversial reminder of the war history of the city of Den Helder. But now that this period is further behind us, new impulses are coming to keep the memory of this meaningful period in our history alive. In the elongated exhibition space the visitor can get acquainted with the chronological course of the Second World War, the geography and form of the Atlantic Wall and stories and events from the war history.

Beach entrance Huisduinen
Beach entrance Huisduinen lies almost under de most beautiful and oldest lighthouse of the Netherlands, called ''de Lange Jaap'' and is named after the old village Huisduinen, which lies directly next to it. This beach is a nice and quiet family beach, with its own paviljon ''Factor 30''. You can find the toilets and beach shower here. In de surrounding area there is a beautiful old fort - ''Fort Kijkduin'', which you can visit. It has a magnificent sea fish tank, and a overview of the history of this fort. You can walk and cycle in a big dune area ''de Grafelijkheidsduinen''.

Beach pavillion Factor 30
Factor 30 is hét strandpaviljoen voor iedereen die op zoek is naar een gezellige, ontspannen sfeer. Sinds 2016 is ons nieuwe strandpaviljoen op het strand van Huisduinen te vinden. Genietend van het zonnetje kunt u op ons terras een heerlijk verfrissend ijsje nemen, een ontbijtje, een lunch of diner. Zien we u snel?

Defence line of Den Helder
The 'Stelling of Den Helder' is one of the oldest stll presence military defensive lines in the Netherlands. The 'stelling' is build in commisioned by Napoleon as a protection of navy base Willemsoord. The city of Den Helder got his shape because of the 'Stelling' which is still seeable in the landscape. The 'Stelling of Den Helder' is very important for the authenticity and identity of Den Helder.

A group of players who can transfer themself in diffrent periods of times. They take the public with them to the time of Napoleon around 1800. Also the period of Charles Dickens, gipsies and fairytales are part of the options. The public will come in one big theatre play and will be in all diffrent periods of time!

Fort Kijkduin
Follow in the footsteps of Napoleon Did you know that sharks live in the North Sea? Would you dare to feed them? This is possible in the North Sea aquarium of Fort Kijkduin! A visit to the aquarium is an exciting and educational adventure where you learn everything about the underwater life in the Wadden and North Sea. Spectacular is the 15-metre-long walk-through tunnel. The historical museum of the fort is also very interesting. Walk through underground tunnels and discover 200 years of military history about Den Helder and the Napoleonic fortress itself. The new family exhibition explores the lives and work of the soldiers stationed in the fort in 1939 during the mobilization of the Dutch army.
