Wieringerboerderij – Kerkhofsteeg 1

The Wieringerboerderij was built in 1832. The front house is tiled and the barn is thatched. Wooden shutters are attached to all windows. The front door of the house can now be found in the characteristic black tarred and weatherboarded wooden rear facade of the barn. This is because of its location on the Kerkhofsteeg. Originally the farm was a mixed farm with both cows and sheep. Sheep’s cheese was made from sheep’s milk. The farmer’s son drove passengers by horse taxi during the festivities in the village. For local housing he acted as a transporter with horse and carriage. He brought the building materials supplied from the port to the construction site. Valuation The Wieringerboerderij is a protected national monument and of cultural-historical value because of the integrity and preservation of this type of farm in the center of Hippolytushoef.
