At beach entrance 16, between Petten and Sint Maartenszee, lies Korfwater beach. Dogs are allowed off-leash here year-round.
The off-leash area is approximately 2 km long. After 7:00 PM and from October 1st to April 1st, the adjacent beaches are also accessible to dogs off-leash.

The coast between Camperduin and Petten was dominated for a long time by the Hondsbossche Zeewering; a 5.5 kilometer long paved dike that protected the land from the sea.
