Stolpboerderij – Westerweg 1

Stolpboerderij – Westerweg 1

The farmhouse has a single square and was built in 1870. The roof is covered with tiles and part of the right side wall was originally made of wood. This can still be seen in the historical photos. The Westerweg was nicknamed ‘Slijksteeg’ because of the wet and muddy (mud) environment. The bridge opposite the farmhouse was a clear landmark in the village. This drawbridge was called the Slijksteegbrug. In 1940 the bridge was replaced by a permanent stone bridge. Archives show that the house was renovated in 1968 by owner J. Koopman. The farm has no monumental status. Sources Image bank of the North Holland Farm Foundation via www.boerderijenstichting.nl Regional Archive Alkmaar via www.tijdschrift.archiefalkmaar.nl
