Steamboat Y8211 and tugboat Dombo Y8017 are historical. The volunteers are working with a lot of passion to keep the boats in the water. It is possible to take a ride with the Dombo. The boat trips are organized alongside the Tourist Information Point.

Fort Erfprins

Fort Erfprins is a nineteenth-century fortress west in the city of Den Helder. With an area of ??49 ha. Erfprins is the largest fortress in the Netherlands. The fort was designated as a national monument in June 1973 and the fort is part of the Den Helder Defense Line which was constructed from 1807 onwards. At this moment it is still in use as a naval barracks. Every now and then, historical tours are given.

Hawaiian Fantasy

Hawaiian Fantasy is a Polynesian dance group with dances from the islands of Hawaii, Tahiti, Marquises and New Sealand (Maori). You can provide stage performances, but can also be used as a 'welcoming act' where, if desired, flower wreaths are hung in the well-known Hawaiian way to welcome the guests. The Hawaiian Fantasy dance group, led by choreographer and dancer Junius Sadeleer, performs with a mini-disc or with a live band, consisting of 4 instrumentalists (percussion).

The Helderse Vallei is the starting point of the 4 well-marked canoe routes that Den Helder has, with various jetties along the way. In addition, Den Helder has various waterways that are easily accessible for canoes. The village route (purple route, 15 km), the southernmost route, runs along the outer edges of Julianadorp.

Balgzandpolder

The Balgzandpolder is entirely designed for birds. You always see birds here resting or looking for food. At high tide in the Wadden Sea there are extra birds to be seen here. They can often be admired from a short distance via a viewing screen. Birds that you can see, for example, are spoonbills, many species of ducks, large groups of oystercatchers and redshanks and amongst them rarer birds such as spotted redshanks and greenshanks.
