Restaurant Vice Versa is situated in the station building of Den Helder Airport, from which our guests can enjoy a nice cup of coffee, a lovely lunch, our sandwich of the month or one of our delicious fried egg on toast. All of that whilst overlooking the runway of the airport with all sorts of activity. What a lot of the people of Den Helder don't know, is that we are freely accessible. No passport or ID required! You can also come to us for all sorts of catering possibilities. You can also celebrate your birthday or some other occasion with us!

The Helderse Historische Vereniging was founded on July 1, 1988 and is concerned with the preservation, disclosure and distribution of the history of Den Helder.

Since 1996, the museum lightship Texel No. 10 has been an absolute eye-catcher in Museum Harbor Willemsoord on the Oude Rijkswerf Willemsoord in Den Helder. What is special is that the now beautifully restored ship is moored a stone's throw from the slipway where she was launched in 1951. After this, the lightship would be a reliable beacon in the sea off the Dutch coast for forty years. It now forms a shining centerpiece of a special museum ships collection. Fort Dirksz Admiraal was built in 1812-1813 as the middle fort in the Stelling van Den Helder. The fort is named after the former mayor of Monnickendam, Cornelis Dirkszoon, who was admiral of the North Holland fleet during the Eighty Years' War. In an advanced position, in what was then still a swamp area, both Fort Oostoever and Fort Erfprins could be protected from this fort. During the Second World War, the German occupier made use of the fort by building an anti-aircraft battery on it. This is still completely present. The marina of the Onrust association is situated around the "Onrust" residential area. On one side the Bassin and Spoorhaven and on the other side the Helders Kanaal (the canal). The club has around 100 berths in total. The size of the berths varies from 6 meters to around 17 meters. In the Helders Kanaal the berths are issued at the length of the ship while the boxes are issued at box length (12 meters for the Bassin and 15 meters for the Spoorhaven).
