Olympia Den Helder is hét selectiebureau dat staat voor persoonlijk contact, kwaliteit en resultaat. De focus ligt met name op het vervullen van vacatures bij MKB bedrijven in de regio. Batterij begraafplaats herbergt bijzondere verhalen. De bunker, door Nederlanders geplaatst, werd opgeleverd op 26 april 1940.

When the spring sun shows itself, the ice fun starts. People of all ages eagerly gather round the display of ice-cream parlour Kaap Hoorn at Willemsoord. It is often a difficult choice between all the wonderful, artisan ice-cream flavours. But it is not just the ice-cream, also our special, rich-flavoured coffees are made with love and passion. Why not have some ice-cream to go with your coffee, instead of a cookie?

You will find the National Rescue Museum at the Willemsoord Royal Shipyard in Den Helder. In this museum, you will discover everything about rescuers at sea. Step aboard real lifeboats and experience the adventure of rescue work!

The Helderse Vallei is the starting point of the 4 well-marked canoe routes that Den Helder has, with various jetties along the way. In addition, Den Helder has various waterways that are easily accessible for canoes. The farmland route (orange route, 12 km) goes right through the bulb fields.

Our Dutch culture seems to be fading, but not in Den Helder. Since 1975, the Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden have been active to maintain a tradition. The 90-key street organ 'de Harmonica' is managed and operated by the volunteers of 'Stichting Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden'. Almost every Saturday they are with the organ in the city center of Den Helder. On an original wooden, three-wheeled push cart and always turned by hand, as happened a century ago.

Nowhere in North Holland is bird life as rich as on Balgzand. The land here is wide and beautiful. From a number of points on the sea dyke you have a beautiful view of the mudflats. A good point to look at is ’t Kuitje Information Centre on the Oostoeverweg in Den Helder. Note the tides, for with rising water the thousands of birds fly in large swirling clouds towards the dike to spend time there.

Duinoord is a unique and very pleasant restaurant in country and western style. Partly due to the homey atmosphere, but also by the brown atmosphere every guest feels right at home. The company has a Steakhouse, a terrace, a banquet hall and a barbecue restaurant on the 1st floor.

At Scheepstuigerij De Schieman we process rope and steel wire into a traditional product and we do a lot of sail makers work. We work for both companies and individuals. We are regularly asked by private individuals to make a cable ring with iguana or widened fenders as a beautiful decorative edge and / or to protect their boat. But we also supply stays, shots and falls, jib nets, play nets, climbing nets or a net like protection at a fishing pond. As a sailmaker, customers regularly hand in tents for repair.
