An adventurous tour looking for seals and other sea animals. Discover what you didn’t know about the sea, both above and below water! The boats of the Wadvissersgilde will take you to the most beautiful places of the Wadden Sea, which you can’t see from the dyke. You will be visiting the Wieringer grounds and will be told about this special area. During the trip, the seabed will be trawled and the marine life hoisted onboard to uncover what hides beneath. From crawly crabs to glassy shrimps, you will have the opportunity to admire these sea animals from up close.

Studio Gest is located in a former warehouse and has its own entrance and consists of a large, high living room of approx 60m2 with underfloor heating. The studio has a private terrace and can accommodate two persons. Possibly there may be a bed or cot to be put. The studio is suitable for those seeking tranquility, business people, bird watchers, cyclists, walkers and parents with young children. You can relax but also work quietly. The studio is equipped with shower and toilet, a kitchen and coffee maker. There is a TV and free Wi-Fi. 2 bikes are at your disposal.

Nowadays the Chapel building has a function as a village house / event location. The space can be rented for various activities such as weddings, receptions, meetings, birthday parties and other gatherings. The Chapel has crockery for 50 guests, so that a (bread) meal / buffet can be enjoyed if necessary.

Palingrokerij Kay - Den Oever is a mobile eel smokehouse with a 5-star status. The eel comes from our own catch, IJsselmeer or even from Ireland. For the gourmets there is also smoked salmon and mackerel. During the season, own eel is caught on the Wadden Sea, you can see the traps when you look out to sea at the Monument! Come and have a look, you are very welcome.

We give you the opportunity to go sportfishing in one of the most beautiful parts of nature in Europe: The Wadden Sea. For groups from 10 persons.

A 2,5 hour tour that begins in harbor of Den Oever (Oostkade) and goes along the sluice at the beginning of the Dam, then along to the tidal banks where different species of birds are foraging and resting. After about half an hour we reach the seals. You can admire them in their natural setting.

At the foot of the Afsluitdijk in Den Oever, you can enjoy the tastiest fish at Vis van Havenzicht with the most expansive view of the fishing port and the Wadden Sea and the ships that pass between the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer. Mark and Michel know everything about fish through their years of experience as fishermen, which you will of course find in their range. Delicious baked, (home) smoked and ready-to-cook fresh fish, freshly cut herring, various freshly filled sandwiches, plate menus, fries, fish dishes (on order) and more.
