The Kooibos owes its name to the duck decoy, which was built there in the 17th century. Since 1973, Staatsbosbeheer has held sway over the Kooibos. As a nature reserve, the forest is especially important because of its special vegetation. The Kooibos is accessible during excursions, for which you must register via Staatsbosbeheer.nl.
