Kitespot Den Helder is actually located in Huisduinen. This is an advanced kitesurfing spot with really strong currents and waves. Please keep this in mind if you have to walk at altitude. Between the breakwaters the water is flatter and outside it is a big pool of slosh. About 2 km off the coast is the Noorderhaaks sandbank, also known as Razende Bol. At low tide this sandbank can be 700 hectares in size. Under certain conditions you are allowed to kite on the west side of the sandbar. The Razendebol is an important breeding and resting area for birds, some of which are on the red list, and seals. That is why we do not recommend going kiting here, so that it also remains a rest area! After all, there are plenty of other spots.

Lighthouse de Lange Jaap

At a 5 minutes walk from beach, sea and dunes lies horse riding school Bruin. From the age of 7 you can join our world of horse riding. We are a 3-star FNRS horse riding school. Care & dairy farm Tesselaar is situated in Huisduinen. It's the only dairy farm in the township of Den Helder. The Tesselaar family started the farm in 2012. They own 40 milch cows and they make their own yoghurt and 10 different kinds of cheese! You can buy this and other products from their garden at the farmshop. But you can also visit their Alpaca's and garden.
