On the occasion of the company's 50th anniversary in February 1996, the former residence of the Spaansen family has been turned into a museum. De grenspaal gaf aan waar de onderhoudsverplichtingen met betrekking tot de Westfriese zeedijk lagen. Op de paal staan de wapens van de waterschappen waarbij al van oudsher de dijkvakken onder Winkel in onderhoud waren. Hier eindigde het deel van de dijk dat in onderhoud was bij de Vier Noorder Koggen en begon het stuk dat in 1339 was toebedeeld aan Drechterland. Deze paal is de vervanger van het in de hongerwinter van 1944 opgestookte exemplaar, herplaatst in 1991 op initiatief van Stichting Historisch Niedorp.
