For many years we have been running our restaurant Golden Bridge with great pleasure. Quality, good food and good service are important to us. The menu consists more than 50 different small dishes. These dunes are formed from the remains of the old Wadden island Huisduinen. South of this are the Donkere Duinen. These originated from the small Wadden island of Ooghduinen. The gap between the two islands closed in the 16th century. The Harmplas dune lake is now located here.

In our cafe (often called a living room) you can still taste the ambiance of days long gone. An old, brown cafe, with two billiards, and old seats and tables where you can play some cards. As a guest, you get swept up in the stories of old. In our family hotel you can unwind, whilst enjoying our comfortable beds, using the Wi-Fi. Or you could get out there and explore the city of Den Helder. The city center is only 500 meters away, and the Old Royal Navy shipyard Willemsoord is even closer by!

Southeast of Den Helder lies the beautiful nature reserve World Heritage Waddenzee. The Balgzand is the the western part of the Waddenzee. This area is very important for migrating birds and for fish. To have as many people as possible know about this beautiful reserve, Nature information center Balgzand 't Kuitje hosts wad excursions organised by the Waddenvereniging.

La Cubanita Den Helder is located in the heart of navy city Den Helder. Our restaurant is attractively decorated and due to the limited floor space there is an intimate and cozy ambiance. Enjoy our delicious tapas!

At Scheepstuigerij De Schieman we process rope and steel wire into a traditional product and we do a lot of sail makers work. We work for both companies and individuals. We are regularly asked by private individuals to make a cable ring with iguana or widened fenders as a beautiful decorative edge and / or to protect their boat. But we also supply stays, shots and falls, jib nets, play nets, climbing nets or a net like protection at a fishing pond. As a sailmaker, customers regularly hand in tents for repair.
