The Royal Navy yacht club was founded on April 29th, 1899 by officers of the Royal Navy. It is, and always has been, a club for Royal Navy personnel. The club is open to officers, officers-in-training and former officers of the Royal Navy and the Royal Navy Reserve. In november of 1901, the title ”Royal” was added to the club by Queen Emma. In the first few years of the club, about 40% of the navy officers (around 350) were a part of the club.

Willemsoord Marina is a marina with modern sanitary facilities, a launderette and a fuel pontoon where you can refuel with diesel oil. The marina is equipped with a WiFi system. As a marina, we have proudly been wearing the Blue Flag since 2009 and since 2016 the Green Pennant has also been added. The Blue Flag and Green Pennant are international environmental awards. Outside the marina we have a yacht yard where you can go for all types of maintenance and repair work.

The private stables of Stefan van Haaster and Guido de Jong. We are mainly concerned with organizing beach rides and riding lessons, but we also regularly sell well-behaved recreation horses and ponies in the lower price range. The horses that we have are also used for the beach rides and the lessons, so they are not sport horses and we do not expect you to come to us for that. We offer horses that are healthy and of good character. Shortcomings are reported as much as possible when you purchase.

The Aquanauten diving club is a fun diving club for anyone who likes to practice his or her hobby in a sporty way. Underwater sports association the Aquanauten is the oldest association in Den Helder and also the diving association with the most members (more than 60) in Den Helder. National Lifeboat Museum Dorus Rijkers

The Dutch lifeboat service through the ages and the safety aspects at sea are at the centre of attention in this museum. Original lifeboats, ship models, scale models, paintings, pictures, distinctions, life-saving equipment and movies are being displayed. All texts and computersimulations are in the English language and most movies as well. Daily, between 13.00 and 16.00 hrs, a 15 minute tour through the inner harbour can be made on board a historic lifeboat. Reservations for the boattrip not required.
