Welcome to Fort West Bank In the fort you can expect: a beer brewery, a beer café with food, halls for weddings and parties, and a museum / expo of the Den Denis under construction. Fort Westoever is home to the Green Stek care nursery (Edible Landscaping and Herbs), Bright Events (corporate parties and more), Helderse Jongers City Brewery, and Beercafé Fort Westoever. In our café you can be honest for really Helders beer, with a view on the brewery. We have a large terrace and a private jetty for your boat. On Wednesday we have our Wrap-tastic Wednesday, and on Thursday the pasta evening. Both nights including a drink € 10, – pp.

Balgzandpolder
The Balgzandpolder is entirely designed for birds. You always see birds here resting or looking for food. At high tide in the Wadden Sea there are extra birds to be seen here. They can often be admired from a short distance via a viewing screen. Birds that you can see, for example, are spoonbills, many species of ducks, large groups of oystercatchers and redshanks and amongst them rarer birds such as spotted redshanks and greenshanks.

National Lifeboat Museum Dorus Rijkers
The Dutch lifeboat service through the ages and the safety aspects at sea are at the centre of attention in this museum. Original lifeboats, ship models, scale models, paintings, pictures, distinctions, life-saving equipment and movies are being displayed. All texts and computersimulations are in the English language and most movies as well. Daily, between 13.00 and 16.00 hrs, a 15 minute tour through the inner harbour can be made on board a historic lifeboat. Reservations for the boattrip not required.
