Citymarketing Den Helder has opened an Experience Store in the center of Den Helder. A unique concept where you can interactively obtain information about living, working, learning and leisure within the municipality of Den Helder. The store contains various elements that provide information in an interactive way. For example, imagine yourself in a helicopter and take a scenic flight over Den Helder, using the VR mask waiting for you at the store. There is also a column with screens from the housing association with information about the various construction projects that are currently underway. There is a rack with brochures about the available activities and regularly someone from the Navy is present to answer questions. There are several other elements that change every few months, so please keep dropping by. Do you have questions about living, learning, working and leisure in Den Helder? Citymarketing Den Helder is ready for you from Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 and 17:00 in the Experience Store. (between April 1 and November 1, the Experience Store is also open on Mondays).

Historisch Documentatiecentrum Marinebedrijven

Den Helder dunes
These dunes are formed from the remains of the old Wadden island Huisduinen. South of this are the Donkere Duinen. These originated from the small Wadden island of Ooghduinen. The gap between the two islands closed in the 16th century. The Harmplas dune lake is now located here.

The Helders museum
The Helders museum is located in the old music dome of the former lyceum on Timorlaan. Today this dome is also known as the Paviljoen van Toen, which borders the Timor Park in Den Helder. In addition to changing exhibitions, the museum also has various artefacts on display, each of which tells a specific story about the rich history of the city of Den Helder. The rate is € 10, - per night, this includes: tourist tax, Wi-fi. the discharge of sewage and use of showers, toilets and baby care room.
