Cultuurplatform Hollands Kroon

The Poldertuin is a park ('Little Keukenhof') featuring spring flowers such as hyacinths, daffodils, tulips, and special bulb and tuber crops. The flower bulbs have been provided by bulb growers from the region. A group of volunteers, with the help of the Municipality of Hollands Kroon, ensures that there is a beautiful garden to admire every year. The garden is in bloom and at its most beautiful from mid-March to mid-May. The garden is open all year round. Admission is free. Tip: combine a visit to the Poldertuin with the Flower Days.

A yurt is originally a Mongolian nomad tent. This yurt only has an American touch, as it is produced in Colorado. We imported it at the beginning of 2021 and installed the interior ourselves. The yurt is behind a dyke on a meadow next to a farm. From the deck with built-in hot tub you have a wide view of the bulb fields. The yurt is fully equipped. Inside you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom and a separate toilet.

Take the sausage factory, for example, where we still make almost all types of sausage ourselves. From quitting the sausage to smoking, it is all done by hand! In de voormalige Hervormde Kerk uit 1855 worden tegenwoordig geen kerkdiensten meer gehouden. In de naastgelegen pastorie bevindt zich een winkeltje met tweedehands spullen.

Het voormalige stoomgemaal is gebouwd in 1873 en vernoemd naar burgemeester Wijdenes Spaans.
