We are committed to a compact shopping centre, with a very varied range of shops for our own residents and for the large groups of tourists who visit the city annually. After you have shopped at one of the many shops, you can go to one of the restaurants for a snack and a drink. You can also use free Wi-Fi. Our Dutch culture seems to be fading, but not in Den Helder. Since 1975, the Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden have been active to maintain a tradition. The 90-key street organ 'de Harmonica' is managed and operated by the volunteers of 'Stichting Helderse Draaiorgelvrienden'. Almost every Saturday they are with the organ in the city center of Den Helder. On an original wooden, three-wheeled push cart and always turned by hand, as happened a century ago.

Marine Watersport Organization
Our marina has 45 berths, all of which have electricity and water. They are mostly being used by the people who have their boats there all year round, but people passing by are ofcourse most welcome! De harbormaster has his office on the top floor of our organization's ship the ''Albatros'' (the big ark sitting sideways on the quay). Also on the top floor you find our bar, which is opened during the season in the afternoon and evening.
