It is also called “the living room of Wieringerwerf” with its colorful collection of trinkets, photos and antiques. These were often given as gifts by the guests, but most of the objects were collected by the family themselves. It is a feast for the eyes and every object has a story. Some of the photos represent the ancestors of Martine and her family. The billiards on which the local billiard clubs play their game from Tuesday to Thursday will be launched on Friday evening thanks to an ingenious system. Friday and Saturday evening it is party time at the neighbors with the latest music and request songs. Nice artists, bands or DJs perform regularly. Café Bij de Buren ‘Sociability trumps’ nothing too much. Martine and her team warmly welcome all guests from Tuesday to Sunday from 3 pm at the regular table or the cozy bar!

Vaarroute Amstelmeer-IJsselmeer
De vaarroute tussen Amstelmeer en IJsselmeer gaat langs de Stontelersluis bij gemaal Leemans, door de Den Oeversche vaart langs Slootdorp bij de Slootvaart. Langs de route kan je op verschillende plekken aanmeren, zoals bij de camping Het Bos Roept!, de verschillende opgeknapte steigers, bij het Slootdoperbos of bij het Amstelmeer. Langs de waterkant van de vaarroute staan zes prachtige kunstwerken.

Voormalige Hervormde Kerk Wieringerwerf (Het Kompas)
In 1937 werd gestart met de bouw van de Nederlandse Hervormde Kerk aan de Meeuwstraat. In Slootdorp en Middenmeer waren al hervormde kerken gebouwd. Alle drie de kerken zijn ontworpen door architect G. van Hoogevest. De interbellumkerk is bescheiden en relatief sober ontworpen. In april 1945 is de kerk zwaar beschadigd. In 2002 werd het gebouw niet meer gebruikt als Hervormde Kerk. De Nederlandse Gereformeerde Kerk huurde de kerk en gaf het gebouw de naam ‘Het Kompas’. In 2022 zijn er appartementen gebouwd in de kerk.
