Behind the beautiful nature area and recreational forest de Donkere Duinen, you find beach Donkere Duinen, also known by the people as entrance ''Hengstepad''. The beach Donkere Duinen is only accessible on foot or on bike. The advantage you have is that you can enjoy a beautiful and mostly quiet family beach. And ofcourse when you go to this beach, you have a great walk or bicycle tour ahead of you.

Come sail in our comfortable sloop the blue Zeeridder and experience the unique wadden area in comfort and tranquility from the water. Along the way we will encounter seals with great certainty and we may drop anchor at sandbar de raging bol to paddle surf, swim, walk or enjoy a snack and a drink. When you sail with the Tres Hombres, you will not count as a passenger, no, you're really a part of the crew! You come on board "with the safe holes" or you start at the lower rungs of the ladder. You learn the necessary safety knowledge for ordinary seaman, ship maintenance, steering, pay attention to changes, set sail and more. Then you proceed to sailor: Ropework, basic navigation and maneuvering under sail. Eventually after the necessary sailing time you have the experience to become a boatswain: leadership, harnesses, sail sewing, carpentry and ship seamanship in the widest.

A good point to look at is ’t Kuitje Information Centre on the Oostoeverweg in Den Helder. Note the tides, for with rising water the thousands of birds fly in large swirling clouds towards the dike to spend time there.
