Petten has an extensive sandy beach that starts at the Hondsbossche Zeewering.
Petten beach is often considered one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands. There’s usually plenty of space to enjoy a relaxing day.
Moreover, you can park for free in Petten.
The area is ideal for cycling and hiking.
The Pole Village
Be sure to visit the Palendorp monument on the beach near Bergeendstraat. This beautiful work of art consists of 160 poles, ranging in length from six to twelve meters. The poles are shaped like ten houses and a church. It serves as a reminder of old Petten, which was long ago submerged by the sea.

Dogs are allowed from April 1st to October 1st, between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM, but only on a leash. The rest of the year, they are always allowed off-leash.
