Discover the bird-rich Balgzand during a special cycling excursion from the visitor centre ‘t Kuitje. Under the guidance of expert guides, you cycle inside the dike to the Kooyhoekschor, an important high-water refuge where waders, ducks and birds of prey rest. With a telescope you get to see the birds up close, and along the way you stop regularly to admire the bird populations in the Balgzandkanaal and the polder. A wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of the Wadden Sea.
The tour is about 5 kilometers there and back and suitable for bird lovers from 12 years old. There are rental bikes available at the starting point, but you can also bring your own bike. Don’t forget your binoculars if you have them, and enjoy a unique day among the birds and the vast Wadden Sea.
