Behind the beautiful nature area and recreational forest de Donkere Duinen, you find beach Donkere Duinen, also known by the people as entrance ''Hengstepad''. The beach Donkere Duinen is only accessible on foot or on bike. The advantage you have is that you can enjoy a beautiful and mostly quiet family beach. And ofcourse when you go to this beach, you have a great walk or bicycle tour ahead of you.

Art and Nature project The Nollen is an initiative of artist R.W. van de Wint. In 1980 Van de Wint began with a painterly experiment in the old dunes "De Nollen". That grew into paintings, sculptures and structures. The Nollen is a project in the making. "R. W. Wint" unexpectedly died in May 2006 of a heart attack. Visitors make, accompanied by a guide, a walk along steel sculptures and monumental structures.

The latest addition to the museum is the home of the bridge ex-hr.ms. de Ruyter: Meet the guided weapon frigate and his crew and learn all about the 3-D radar! Restaurant Stoom is a hip and trendy a-la-carte restaurant in Den Helder. A place for everyone to dine, work, meet and especially enjoy in a personal atmosphere. Stoom is situated in a unique spot in a beautiful monumental building at Willemsoord, which formerly served as a shipyard and maintenance yard for the Royal Dutch Navy. Glass, brick, wood and steel are the original elements that you encounter in the restaurant. Tough and robust.

This male choir currently has around 43 members. A choir that was born from the Helderse fishery. It has now grown into a group of singing men who stand their ground well during the performance. These performances not only cross the city limits of Den Helder, but even the land borders.
