The Texel Aviation Museum foundation was founded in 1988. After a long search, an old glider hangar became available in April 1966 and the museum was founded. The museum tells the story of the air war in World War II and the Georgian Uprising, when captive Georgian soldiers rebelled against the Germans.

On Texel you can play fantastic golf on the 18-hole golf course with A status. It is a special golf course between the dunes with water features and large greens.

De Slufter is the largest and best-known nature reserve on Texel. A unique nature reserve that is openly connected to the North Sea and looks different every day. Creeks with salt water flow straight through the area, only plants that can tolerate salt water grow there.
