Museum Kaap Skil is full of stories and adventures about the illustrious maritime history of the island of Texel. The collection contains top finds from ancient shipwrecks found off the Texel coast. In the Golden Age, trading and war ships gathered here upon arrival and departure. That time is revived in the world's largest maritime model, which is located in the award-winning entrance building. Outside, in the open-air museum, you can see what life on Texel was like in the past. During the holidays it is buzzing with activities. Museum Kaap Skil is a fun and educational day out!

Museum Slag aan de Somme displays a collection of old uniforms, helmets, grenades, weapons and ammunition. Models depicting the events on the Somme during the First World War. The museum is housed in a three-storey tower.

For the occasion of the 50th anniversary celebration in February 1996, the former house of the family Spaansen was set up as a museum. Learn about the past, present and future of the family through seeing the extensive photo collection and various utensils, used by this family business.

In the farm is a lot of attention is dedicated to: What a beachcomber finds; breakwaters; lifeboat station Callantsoog; beautiful places in Callantsoog on slides; scale models from dunes and village; tools; old postcards and pictures; and carts on the history of Callantsoog; archeological findings from the surroundings.

Good for a wonderful day (or several!) out, especially in combination with the Navy Museum, the National Rescue Museum Dorus Rijkers and the cozy terraces and restaurants!

Kunstzin is a dynamic Julianadorper organisation with many departments and many youth in its organisation. The organisation states its goal for eachothers opportunity with music and a meaningful spending of time.

Music association Winnubst, founded in 1900, offers musical relaxation to around 100 enthusiastic singers. With a good training of their own through the Klein Harmonieorkest, Winnubst ensures that the Harmonie orchestra can continue to operate at the highest level. In addition, Winnubst has the Bigband Frankie Goes To ... and the multi-bladed chapel the Knorhanen, now a household name in Den Helder and the like.

MUSICOOL, where you share your passion with others, is more than a youth musical group. When people come to MUSICOOL it is imidetly reconizeable. Cozy, relaxed, warmth and fun are words that are said often. The students experience MISICOOL as their second home.

The so-called MUZ-Park was established in 1925-28 for the senior staff of the Society for the Implementation of the Zuiderzee Works. The board members A. Bos and G.A. van Hattum moved into the thatched double villa at Gemeenelandsweg 116, engineer Algra into the detached house at Gemeenelandsweg 110 and for the employers there were the workers' houses at Gemeenelandsweg 94-108 and 128-130.

Legendary café for alternative live music in the heart of Den Helder

Deze 11 km wandelroute voort u langs de forten, verbonden door de Liniedijk, samen vormen ze de Stelling van Den Helder. U wandelt deze route aan de hand van een boekje, met veel achtergrondinformatie over de tijd van Napoleon in dit gebied en landschappelijke aspecten. Dit boekje is verkrijgbaar bij de VVV's voor €2,50. Langs de route staan ook verschillende informatiepanelen behorend bij deze route.
