Hoenderdaell Zoo, experience nature! Brown bears rescued from Bulgaria, cheerful ring-tailed lemurs, alpacas, the rare snow leopard and many other animals. The animals and their welfare are central and the natural habitat is imitated as closely as possible. Hoenderdaell Zoo also regularly takes in animals in need.
Monkey Islands
Monkey Island is home to capuchin monkeys, squirrel monkeys and the curious ring-tailed lemurs. The best time to visit the lemurs from Madagascar is during a feeding presentation.
Feeding brightly colored birds
The lory garden is inhabited by small brightly colored birds. There are bowls with special lory food for sale that you can feed to the lories at any time of the day.
Avitorium
At the back of the park is the aviary. Various bird species can be admired here, including various types of vultures, a condor, owls, eagles etc.
Stichting Leeuw, a shelter for big cats, is also located in the park. The animals that are taken in come from circuses, war situations or from people’s homes. On the gallery there are educational spaces with a cat quiz, you can experience how a lion feels in a very small cage and you might even see a lion hunting.
Stichting SOS Dolfijn is an educational whale sanctuary and offers help to porpoises, dolphins and whales in distress that end up alive on the Dutch coast or are in danger of beaching. As soon as they are better, the animals are returned to the sea and released there.
