Kinepolis Den Helder opened her doors in building 51 in Willemsoord, the former shipyard and maintenance site for the Royal Navy in 2003. Scheepsfolk is a Dutch maritime folk band with its own unique sound. The band regularly performs in many countries during festivals and nautical events and in folk clubs. The enthusiastic crew accompanies themselves with accordion, guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, draw bag, washboard, candrum, kazoo, cajon and double bass. The musical influences come from all over Europe, so Scheepsfolk has developed its own unique style.
