Dorpsstraat 99

Dorpsstraat 99

Around 1930 this was the post office of Nieuwe Niedorp. Previously, this was a grocery and drapery shop. In 1973 the post office was converted into a house. The waiting room and the office on the street side have been turned into a living room. The renovation is based on a design by the local architect M. Boekel from Oude Niedorp and carried out by contractor G.J. Boekel from Heerhugowaard. The PTT sidewalk tile still reminds of the place where the mailbags were collected. The building has no monumental status. Sources – Archives Municipality of Hollands Kroon – Image bank Regional Archive Alkmaar via www.regionaalarchiefalkmaar.nl with catalog number: RAA003010790.
