The Helderse Vallei is the starting point of the 4 well-marked canoe routes that Den Helder has, with various jetties along the way. In addition, Den Helder has various waterways that are easily accessible for canoes. The village route (purple route, 15 km), the southernmost route, runs along the outer edges of Julianadorp. The village route leads you past the rural Julianadorp. At the beginning of the 20th century, the first flower bulb growers from around Haarlem and Lisse settled in this area. Part of the route goes along bulb fields where you can enjoy the colors and scents of the flowers in the right period. Along the Village Route Family camping site ‘t Noorder Sandt is located on the canoe route and has sheltered fields with demarcated pitches, and many recreational opportunities such as a swimming paradise ‘t Spetternest with slide and mini riding school. The place to enjoy your well-deserved holiday! Golf course Ooghduyne is an attractive golf course close to the dunes, the beach and the sea. The course has A status and excellent changing facilities and an excellent restaurant. For the experienced golfer, the Par 70 course is a challenge due to the ever-present wind. Due to its favorable location, the course can be played almost all year round. The Par 3, Family Golf Course is ideal for getting acquainted with the sport of golf and perfecting your game. Julianadorp was founded by mr. P. Loopuyt in 1909 and in the same year Queen Wilhelmina gave permission to give the village the name Julianadorp. Julianadorp has about 14000 inhabitants. In summer, mostly German tourists provide more than 900,000 overnight stays per year. In the cozy old center you will find various catering establishments, shops and various events are organized.
