Zwerftocht door de Grafelijkheidsduinen

Zwerftocht door de Grafelijkheidsduinen

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, guides from Landschap Noord-Holland will take you on a special wander through the Grafelijkheidsduinen. This unique dune area is a mosaic of wet and dry, sunny and shaded spots with enormous biodiversity. During the walk, you will learn about the special relationships between plants, animals, and the landscape. For example, the European robin depends on the dune rabbit, and dragonflies still benefit from old bomb craters from the Second World War.

In addition to nature, you will also discover the rich history of this area, with traces from the time of Napoleon and World War II. The walk takes you off the beaten path, so good shoes are a must. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, water, something to eat, and possibly binoculars or a camera. Let yourself be surprised by the dynamism and hidden stories of this beautiful part of Den Helder.
