Discover the bird-rich Balgzand during a special cycling excursion starting from visitor center ‘t Kuitje. Accompanied by expert guides, you will cycle inland to the Kooyhoekschor, an important high-tide roosting site where waders, ducks, and birds of prey rest. Using a telescope, you will get a close-up view of the birds, and along the way, you will stop regularly to admire the bird populations in the Balgzand Canal and the polder. A wonderful way to experience the natural beauty of the Wadden Sea.
The trip is approximately 5 kilometers round trip and suitable for bird lovers aged 12 and up. Loan bikes are available at the starting point, but you are also welcome to bring your own. Don’t forget your binoculars if you have them, and enjoy a unique day among the birds and the vast Wadden Sea.
