The sanibunker is built in 1942, beginning of 1943. This bunker had a surgery room where the wounded could be stabilized, so that they could be transported further in-land. This bunker was part of the German ”Kriegsmarine”, and had 1 doctor and 4 nurses, who could care for 10 people with minor injuries, and 10 seriously injured people.

Beach entrance Duinoord
Beach entrance Duinoord is the best equipped beach entrance of Den Helder, with plenty of parking space, its very own Beachclub the Citadel, and a guarded beach post in the summer season. In the direct surroundings there are a few nature areas like ''de Donkere Duinen'' and ''Mariëndal''. Duinoord has a nice, wide beach, and is often visited during the summer by both tourists and inhabitants of Den Helder. This beach has the Blue Flag and is being guarded.
