Information point Sint Maarten

Gallery Art-Point is an initiative of visual artist Peter IJsseldijk. He himself makes bronze statues, drawings and paintings. At Art-Point, work by 7 artists is shown, with diversity and various disciplines being chosen.

Castle Nieuwendoorn. Foundations of the in the 13th century founded castle Nieuwendoorn. Located between Eenigenburg and Krabbendam this was one of the castles of Count Floris the V. The Buitenplaats is a farm situated in the small and quiet village of Eenigenburg at the old West Frisian Omringdijk. At the farm, 25 cows are milked in the morning and at night, allowing everyone to come and see. There are some chickens scratching around the farm and there are 2 bungy bushes on the meadow with of course small calves. The land around the farm is mainly grassland, but potatoes are also grown.

The museum features the exhibit The Time Compass Eenigenburg, the interesting historyof the family Eenigenburg to the US. The museum also show the laborers cottage Van Schoneveld . The entrance fee is € 4, - for adults and € 2, - to 18 years, including one consumption in the new reception area. Changing exhibitions.

The castle 't Huys in Nuwendore was a fortress built by Floris V to keep the rebellious West Frisians in check. The castle was built in the 13th century, at the same time as the castles in Medemblik, Wijdenes and Oudorp. The castle was destroyed at the end of the 14th century, probably as a result of a dike breach. The foundations were preserved by the National Monument Care in 1960 and a path has been made to it. After years of work, the old coal barn was transformed into the Tara Center. Here are a lot of activities in the field of spirituality. The church of Valkkoog was built in the 16th century with old brick materials. The church is late gothic and has a five travee deep ship. The church is open to visit during events and exhibitions.
