Near the birthplace of his father, Erik Koopman and his wife Mariëlle de Bont took over the Wijndomein de Slootgaert in 2016. With a plot of 1.25 hectares of grapes with 3 varieties of white and 3 varieties of red. They also make rosé. The wine domain has a company building where they make their own wines. The Waarlandsmolen (Mill) was built in 1530. In the early 50's the mill went in operation. In 1966 the mill was completely restored, and then the spindle and the upper target course have been removed from the mill. From 1855 to 2008 the mill has been inhabited.
